Shayal Naidu
PhysiotherapistAbout
Shayal graduated in 2018 from Fiji National University. Growing up in the vibrant island nation, she developed a deep curiosity about the human body and its ability to heal. This passion led her to pursue a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. During her studies, she was honoured to receive the Dean’s Honours Award, a recognition of her dedication and hard work throughout her academic journey.
Through her career, she has gained valuable experience working in hospitals, private clinics, and community settings. This combination of experiences has allowed Shayal to treat a wide range of patients, from paediatric to geriatric cases, and has given her a comprehensive understanding of physiotherapy across all age groups. Each of these environments has enriched her practice, shaping her approach to patient care by emphasizing a holistic and patient-centred approach.
Seeking further opportunities to grow and advance in her career, Shayal migrated to New Zealand in 2023 and have been working as a full-time physiotherapist since then. The move was motivated by the prospect of expanding her professional horizons and gaining exposure to a diverse range of physiotherapy practices.
Shayal is a very social person who loves meeting new people, making connections, and building lasting friendships. She enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures, which has broadened her perspective and enriched her personal and professional life. In addition to her professional pursuits, Shayal has a passion for dancing. It is a form of self-expression that brings her joy, and she enjoys staying active through dance.
Currently, she lives with her parents and her husband, whom she believes are her pillars of support and motivation. Their love and encouragement have been instrumental in her journey, and she’s incredibly grateful for their unwavering presence in her life.
As a physiotherapist, Shayal’s goal is to continue helping people improve their health and quality of life, whether by assisting children in their development or supporting older adults with mobility issues, embracing new challenges, building relationships, and pursuing her passions for traveling and meeting new people.
