Michelle Ferguson
Physiotherapy Director, Senior PhysiotherapistAbout
Michelle is an experienced and qualified physiotherapist with a keen interest in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, sports injuries, the treatment of young athletes, and rehabilitation for all patients to get them back to what they enjoy doing.
Michelle has a Bachelor of Health Science Physiotherapy, Post Graduate Certificate in Acupuncture and a Masters of Health Practice Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and has been involved with a number of AUT research projects. Michelle is also a PINC & STEEL certified Cancer Rehabilitation Physiotherapist. PINC & STEEL is really passionate about helping people navigate the difficult world of cancer treatment so they can minimise the side effects of the treatments and encourage them to have the best quality of life they can. The treatments are tough but are more manageable when people know what to expect and are given good advise on all the things they can do to maximise their own recovery and help them take positive steps for their future health and wellbeing.
She is passionate about contributing to the ongoing development of others and is an experienced Clinical Educator. Central to this is her own professional development to ensure she is practicing and teaching up-to-date techniques to the Active Plus Team. Michelle enjoys an active lifestyle including netball, bike riding, hiking and swimming with her family.
My Goals
To raise awareness of Physiotherapy Rehabilitation in the cancer population.
The PINC & STEEL cancer rehabilitation programs provide a full range of services designed to look after men, women and adolescents recovering from any type of cancer surgery or cancer treatments. Our range of programs are designed to help people through every stage of their treatment and recovery, incorporating individualised physiotherapy rehabilitation and exercise prescription to specialised group exercise classes.
The PINC & STEEL Programs are individualised physiotherapy based cancer rehabilitation programs specifically designed to help females (PINC) or males (STEEL) maximise their recovery, regain physical and emotional strength, stamina and incorporate exercise into their lifestyle.
To register for the PINC or STEEL programs go online to www.pincandsteel.com and click on the register/enquiry button for either the PINC or STEEL Program. Or get a medical professional to refer you by emailing admin@pincandsteel.com
