Physiotherapy Manager / Leadership Role

Work Outcomes GP Limited

Hamilton Central, Waikato

Management (Healthcare & Medical)

Contract/Temp

Active+ Waikato provides premier vocational rehabilitation, physiotherapy and occupational therapy services throughout the Waikato and Lakes district.  We place an emphasis on quality injury prevention, early treatment and rehabilitation services to improve the health and well-being of our customers.

An opportunity has arisen with a Physiotherapy role in our Senior Management team. Initially this role is a fixed term maternity leave cover as Physiotherapy Manager, which will then lead into a Senior Community Physiotherapy management role.  This role would suit either a senior dynamic, motivated and experienced Physiotherapist who is keen to make an exciting career move and step up into a Managers role, or an experienced Physiotherapy Manager who would like to retain a mix of clinical and management work and is looking for a change.

This is an opportunity to provide clinical leadership to a team of physios and be part of the senior leadership team managing our community contracts and the running of the clinics in Te Rapa.  Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be able to use your exceptional customer services, people management and organisational skills to ensure Active+ Waikato provides a premier Physiotherapy service to our clients.

The Opportunity:

This role allows you to continue with your passion for physiotherapy with your time being apportioned between holding your own part-time caseload and providing the opportunity to spend part of your time in managing and mentoring staff and working on organisational management tasks.  This is a fantastic opportunity to have the “best of both worlds” and you will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical leadership to the physio team, including supporting new staff with orientation and development
  • Continuing to maintain your physio skills by carrying a caseload
  • Assisting the business with audit requirements, planning and growth
  • Overseeing Physiotherapy staff, including leave management, training and service standards
  • Managing external relationships with suppliers
  • Working with the management team to ensure the smooth running and professional presentation of our Te Rapa clinic; and in the development and streamlining of services across our Waikato region.
  • We offer a competitive remuneration package dependent on qualifications and experience.

Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:

  • No less than three years of Physiotherapy experience working in New Zealand
  • Clinical and people leadership experience
  • A strong passion for delivering service excellence
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • A warm and friendly manner, enabling you to work well with others and understand multiple perspectives
  • The ability to problem-solve and use initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A high standard of proficiency using Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Clean, full driver’s license
  • Preference given to Physiotherapists with Post-graduate qualifications.

If you are a self-motivated individual with a sense of fun, who would like to join our friendly team, then we would love to hear from you!
